Atlantic County Improvement Authority

First Time Homebuyer Program – Atlantic City

Provides no more than 10% of the purchase price as down payment and closing cost to eligible residents of Atlantic City who are first time home buyers.

Atlantic County Improvement Authority

First Time Homebuyer Program – Atlantic County

Provides no more than $10,000 towards down payment and closing costs to eligible residents of Atlantic County who are first time home buyers (Residents of Atlantic City are not included).

Burlington County Office of Housing & Community Development

First Time Home Buyer Program

Provides down payment and closing cost assistance to eligible residents of Burlington County who are first time home buyers. Total assistance will not exceed $4000 for closing cost assistance and $5000 for down payments.

Camden City Bureau of Housing Services

First Time Homebuyer’s Program (FTHP)

Provides a one-time deferred loan of up to $10,000 to help cover down payment and closing costs for eligible low/moderate income families who want to purchase their first single-family home in the City of Camden.

Camden County Council On Economic Opportunity

Dollar to Dollar IDA Program

A match savings program for low-income students and families who are saving up to buy a house, further their education, or start a business. For every $1 that qualified participants deposit, the IDA program will deposit an additional $2.

First Time Homebuyer Program

The First Time Homebuyer Program provides down payment assistance of up to $10,000 for eligible first time homebuyers in Camden County.

Catholic Charities Diocese of Camden – Asset Development

Matched Savings – Individual Development Account (IDA)

A matched savings program for individuals and families who are saving up to buy a home, further their education, or start/expand a business. For every $1 that qualified participants deposit, the IDA program will deposit an additional $2.

East Orange Division of Neighborhood Housing and Revitalization

Home Buyers Purchase Program (HOME)

Provides financial assistance to eligible first-time home buyers purchasing a home in the City of East Orange, in the form of a deferred payment loan, which can be used toward the down payment and/or closing costs.

Faith Fellowship Community Development Corporation

Homebuyer Education and Counseling

Offers one-on-one counseling to prospective homebuyers, educating them on the homebuying process, credit scores, financial considerations, and how to maintain homeownership.

Gloucester County Division of Housing & Community Development

Homebuyer Down Payment Assistance Program

Provides partial down payment and closing cost assistance to eligible residents of Gloucester County, who are first time homebuyers.

Housing Partnership for Morris County

Home Buyer Education & Financial Coaching

The Housing Partnership for Morris County offers several housing-related financial services for home seekers and first time home buyers. Services available include home ownership education, special bank programs, and savings clubs.

Jersey City Department of Housing, Economic Development & Commerce

Golden Neighborhoods Homeownership Program (GNHP)

Provides down payment and closing costs assistance for eligible low/moderate income families who want to purchase their first home.

Mercer County Housing and Community Development

First Time Homebuyer Program

Provides no more than 2% down payment and closing cost assistance to eligible residents of Mercer County who are first time homebuyers (Residents of Trenton are not included). Total assistance will not exceed $7000.

Middlesex County Division of Housing, Community Development, and Social Services

American Dream Downpayment Program

Awards $5,000 in assistance towards down payments and closing costs to first-time homebuyers in Middlesex County, after they have attended individualized budget review and homebuyer counseling.

Monmouth County Community Development

HOME – First Time Homebuyer Program

Provides up to $10,000 in a deferred loan to eligible Monmouth County residents to assist with their down payment and/or closing costs for purchasing their first home.

NJ Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency

SmartStart Downpayment Assistance Program

Offers families a second mortgage loan of up to 4% of the amount of the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency’s (NJHMFA) purchase money first mortgage loan for downpayment and/or closing costs.

Paterson Department of Community Development / Division of Housing

First Time Home Buyer Program

First time home buyers who are purchasing property in Paterson can receive up to $14,500 towards down payments and/or closing cost.

Perth Amboy Department of Human Services

First Time Homebuyer Program

Provides partial down payment assistance to eligible residents of Perth Amboy who are first time homebuyers. Total assistance will not exceed $8000.

United Way of Essex and West Hudson

Vineland Community Development

Home Ownership Assistance Program (HOAP)

Provides interest-free loans of $5000 to help assist with down payment and closing costs for homes being purchased in Center City Vineland.
