Energy Assistance Programs

Home Assistance Programs: Low-Income eligible households that are having a difficulty paying their heating and cooling bills can contact this office for financial assistance and help in weatherizing their homes.

  • Home Energy Assistance (HEA & LIHEAP)

    The Home Energy Assistance Program helps very low-income residents with their heating and cooling bills, and makes provisions for emergency heating system services and emergency fuel assistance within the Home Energy Assistance Program.

  • Universal Service Fund (USF)

    Helps make energy bills more affordable for low income customers. If you are eligible, USF can lower the amount you have to pay for natural gas and electricity.

  • Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP)

    Assist elderly, handicapped and low-income persons in weatherizing their homes, improving their heating system efficiency and conserving energy.

  • Lead-Safe Home Remediation Pilot Program

    The New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) is pleased to announce the Lead-Safe Home Remediation (LSHR) Pilot Program. The purpose of the program is to identify and remediate lead-based paint hazards via interim controls to prevent elevated blood lead levels in children and pregnant women. The program targets municipalities in New Jersey with high reported incidence of elevated blood lead levels in children under age six.
